92 James Suckling
"Blackberry, tar and burnt-orange aromas follow through to a medium body with creamy, fine tannins and a tangy finish. Lots of energy. Drink or hold."
A Wine That Surpirses
Contrary to what its name might suggest ("little sweet one"), this Dolcetto is a dry, fruit-forward wine with a captivating depth of flavor. Originating in northwestern Italy, this dark-skinned red grape yields a vibrant ruby-purple color and enticing aromas of dark fruit, spice, and earthy notes. I personally enjoyed its vibrant fruit and soft smooth tannins.
James Suckling praises it as "one of the best Dolcettos around," and Wine Spectator awarded it 91 points, highlighting its bright cherry, raspberry, and floral notes, along with its harmonious balance and complex finish.
