"Bright, dark ruby red with garnet nuances. Opens on the nose with ripe cherry, blueberry, and fine oak, underpinned by smoky and leather notes. Finely polished on the palate, well-integrated oak notes, pleasant freshness and tight tannins, with bright fruit on the lingering finish."

This is a Cabernet from Italy. The producer blended to taste with small amounts of Cab Franc & Merlot.

The Petra estate is steeped in a very special ecosystem, which breathes and whispers, permeated by warmth and with an underground current which pervades the soil and reaches us through the produce of the land – grapes, but a lot more too. Petra’s landscape and nature are unique. The vineyard where the cabernet grapevines grow enjoys a balance of clay and rocky backbone, and a favorable gradient.

Smell and taste: On the nose, the wine has notes and hints of blackberry and blueberry jam, black cherry and spices, coffee and balsamic oils. It is powerful and vigorous on the palate, confirming the promise of the nose, and dynamic thanks to its fresh and full character.
Serving suggestions: It goes perfectly as an accompanying wine with goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, fried veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or ossobuco.
Serve at: 18-20° C

Drinking window and aging capacity: Drink now or age for 10+ years

About Petra: The Petra estate is steeped in a very special ecosystem, which breathes and whispers, permeated by warmth and with an underground current which pervades the soil and reaches us through the produce of the land – grapes, but a lot more too. Petra’s landscape and nature are unique::the green belt of the Colline Metallifere, near the Montioni Natural Park, with the Poggio Tre Cancelli Natural Reserve, up to the Sterpaia Coastal Park, looking over the Tyrrhenian Sea, a constant presence on the horizon, a single blue tone in a landscape otherwise dominated by two essential colours – green and russet. Like many of our partner wineries, Petra is also a family business managed by a beautiful and talented Francesca Moretti.
