Shipping & Returns Policy

This policy explains where we ship, how weather and carrier conditions affect delivery, and how returns, failed deliveries, and claims are handled.

Shipping Basics

All alcohol deliveries require adult signature (21+) and may require ID verification at delivery.

We ship only where permitted by law. We do not currently ship to: Alabama, Arkansas, Utah, Michigan, Mississippi, and South Dakota.

Shipping charges apply to Hawaii and Alaska. Free shipping is not available for HI/AK.

We do not accept requests to ship via a specific carrier such as UPS or FedEx. Carrier selection and routing remain at our discretion.

Do not ship to UPS Stores, FedEx retail locations, or similar carrier storefronts without prior written approval.

Order Comments, Holds, Weather, and Timing

Important information such as unavailable dates, delivery timing issues, or hold requests should be entered into the Order Comments field at checkout.

Hold requests submitted after purchase may not be guaranteed.

We may place heat or cold weather holds on any order and may pause shipments at any time to protect wine quality or for compliance, carrier, operational, or fraud-related reasons.

We do not automatically send notice in every case when an order is placed on weather hold. Customers may contact us for status updates.

For many states, orders may move through a temperature-controlled line haul from Benicia, California. Shipping schedules may change and timing is not guaranteed.

We do not guarantee delivery by holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, or other occasion dates.

Free Shipping and Wine Vault

Free shipping applies only to full cases of 12 bottles or multiples of 12, subject to exclusions shown at checkout.

Wine Vault allows bottle accumulation until 12 bottles are reached for free shipping, subject to any operational limits displayed at checkout.

Packaging, Ice Bricks, Tracking, and Returned Shipments

Ice bricks may be included in warm weather when needed to protect the wine. Condensation-related label wear may occur and is not grounds for liability to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Orders generally ship in protective packaging suitable for wine transit unless otherwise noted.

Tracking is emailed when the order ships. Tracking scans may not appear immediately after label creation.

If delivery fails due to missed attempts, failed adult signature, refusal, or address issues and the shipment is returned, refunds will be reduced by applicable return shipping fees, typically $40 or the actual return cost if higher, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

All Sales Final, Claims, and Contact

Due to the nature of alcohol shipments, all sales are final except as required by law.

Customers should inspect shipments promptly at delivery, note any visible issues with the carrier where appropriate, and refuse delivery when clearly warranted.

Damage, missing-item, or incorrect-item claims must be reported within 24 hours of delivery and should include photos of the outer box, packing materials, labels, and product.
