FAITH VINEYARD RUTHERFORD: The Faith Vineyard is a valley floor vineyard that is perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Rutherford is located just North of Oakville, in the heart of the Napa Valley. A very warm climate moderated by cooling Bay Area fog, it reaches 6 square miles from the Mayacamas to the Vaca Mountains, giving the most ideal number of diurnal temperatures for its grapes. With volcanic soils, these grapes have to struggle to grow, producing less grapes per vine, but very intense, powerful, beautiful berries.

TASTING NOTES: Nicely integrated oak and spice, cherry and rose petal, Lush, dark, rich, good acid, bright, spice, nice lively fruit. This is a food wine with bright acidity and soft tannins. Deep purple-black colored, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon rolls out of the glass ready for business with hefty notes of crushed rose petal, ripe cherry, blackcurrants, and hints of tar and leather followed by wild spice.

I'm thrilled to stumble upon such incredible deals like this. Previously priced at $160 per bottle, it has now plummeted to just $40!

With a limited production of 275 cases, this price seems too good to be true, especially considering the exceptional quality of this wine.

However, there is a slight catch. The winery strives for perfection in every aspect and had higher expectations for the labels, which turned out slightly washed out and lacked the desired crispness. Also, some of the labels have minor blemishes. Consequently, they decided to sell them off at a massive discount...Woohoo!

This wine originates from a single vineyard in Rutherford, California, and is meticulously crafted by the talented winemaker, Miguel Caratachea of Punch Vineyards and Bougetz Cellars, with earlier stints at Frogs Leap and Stonegate.

The 2019 vintage of Empyreum showcases the extraordinary nature of that near-perfect vintage. It possesses the potential to gracefully mature for years to come, yet it also delivers immense pleasure now.
