The 2021 pours wiry and snappy: stewed black cherry, scorched earth, tarry spice, sappy herb, resinous tobacco. Grenache keeps the wine fresh. Syrah holds tannin. Mourvedre adds dark spice. Forest floor and savory anise sit under the fruit. Zesty tannin, not a plush costume.
