Freixenet Prosecco spotlight
Freixenet Mionetto USA, the official importer, broadcasts live from the winery on Prosecco and Italian sparkling rosé.

Freixenet Prosecco Rose DOC
Eighty-five percent Glera, fifteen percent Pinot Noir, Charmat bubbles, a pink pour at $12.50.
Freixenet's Prosecco Rosé DOC is the official pink style: 85 percent Glera with 15 percent Pinot Noir, Extra Dry, 11% ABV. House notes give red fruit over white flowers and apple. It lands at $12.50 against a $16 SRP.

Pink Prosecco from a house that already knows bubbles
Prosecco Rosé is a young DOC. Freixenet did not invent Glera, but it did put Pinot Noir in the tank and a pink bottle on a weeknight table.

The house
Freixenet is a sparkling specialist. Henkell Freixenet owns the Italian Prosecco line; Freixenet Mionetto USA is the official US importer.
The wine
Glera for pear and apple, Pinot Noir for color and red fruit. Charmat method, Extra Dry at about 15 g/l, 11% ABV, vegan.
The drink
Chill to 43 to 46 F. Flute or white-wine glass. Aperitif, salad, shrimp, or pizza. VinePair's 89 sits below our 90-point floor.
The buy
$12.50 a bottle, $75 for six, $150 for twelve with free shipping. The supplied SRP is $16.
What is $12.50 Prosecco Rosé with a $16 SRP actually buying?
$12.50 versus the $16 SRP supplied for this promotion is 22 percent off. That is a supporting value case, not a lead-score story.

At $12.50 per bottle, the 6-bottle allocation totals $75.

Strawberry, apple blossom, and a soft Extra Dry line
The house writes fresh red fruit over white flowers and apples, then sweet red berries in light bubbles.

A Charmat cuvée, not a vintage-dated still wine. Glera does the Prosecco work. Pinot Noir, required by the Rosé DOC, gives color and berry without turning the wine into a red.
Delicate red fruits over white flowers and apple. Pinot Noir is obvious and folded in, not a separate wine.
Extra Dry, about 15 g/l sugar, 11% ABV, light bubbles, Charmat tank method, no oak.
A short, refreshing berry finish. Serve at 43 to 46 F. Drink as an aperitif or with shrimp and salad.
Charmat tanks, Pinot for pink
Prosecco Rosé DOC requires Glera plus Pinot Noir and a tank second ferment. Freixenet runs that recipe at Extra Dry.

Blend: Eighty-five percent Glera, fifteen percent Pinot Noir, the DOC Rosé recipe. Extra Dry dosage near 15 g/l. Alcohol 11%. Suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.
Method: Charmat, or tank, second fermentation. Fine persistent bubbles, no bottle-aging story, no oak.
Intent: House pairings include fig, walnut, and goat cheese salad, prawn risotto, prosciutto, and Caprese. Chill it. Pour it. Do not cellar it.
From Sant Sadurní to Veneto pink
Freixenet made its name in Cava, then took the same crowd to Italian Glera and, once the DOC allowed it, to pink Prosecco.

Freixenet began as a Catalan sparkling house in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. The Ferrer family built a global brand on tank bubbles that people would actually open on a Tuesday.
Henkell Freixenet later folded Italian Prosecco into that system. Mionetto sits in the same group. The US importer films from the winery because the bottle is meant to be poured, not explained.
Prosecco Rosé DOC is the new chapter: Glera plus Pinot Noir, Extra Dry, 11 percent, pink because the law and the table both asked for it.
Prawns in butter, figs on the plate
Extra Dry pink Prosecco wants salt, fat, and a little sweetness: shrimp, fig, goat cheese, not a heavy roast.
Two plates. One skillet of garlic prawns. One fig, walnut, and goat cheese salad. Both can take the bubbles.
Chill hard, 43 to 46 F. Flute for the party, white-wine glass if you want the berry. Open and finish.
Garlic prawns
Nagi's six-ingredient prawns: garlic, wine, butter, lemon. Salt and fat for Extra Dry bubbles.
Why it works: The house lists prawn risotto. Garlic prawns are the faster plate with the same sweet shrimp and butter.

Fig, walnut, and goat cheese salad
Ripe figs, toasted walnuts, goat cheese, arugula, honey. The house's own salad pairing, on a plate.
Why it works: Freixenet names fig, walnut, and goat cheese salad first. Sweet fig and salt cheese love Extra Dry pink bubbles.
